‘Baskets’ season 2: When could Zach Galifianakis series return to FX?
For those of you out there who do enjoy off-the-wall comedy, you may be aware already of the sad news that tonight marks the season finale of “Baskets” on FX.
Yet, it is far from the end of the road. The series was renewed last month for a second season, and at the time the network’s president of original programming Eric Schrier had the following to say:
“Baskets is bold, brilliant and incredibly funny and we could not be happier with the reception it’s received in its breakout first season … Baskets brings together three of the most innovative comedic minds working today — Zach [Galifianakis], Louis [CK] and Jonathan [Krisel] — and we thank them, the rest of the creative team and the entire cast for everything they’ve done for the series.”
As of right now, the return date is set to be at some point early next year, and hopefully, we’ll get some more insight on that specifically sooner rather than later. We do know that there is a lot to look forward to here with this series from a variety of different aspects still, whether it be some more surprising casting in the vein of Louie Anderson to also figuring out how to subvert expectations.
We’re not going to say still that season 1 was perfect, with the biggest problem being that the title character is a little bit unlikable. Hopefully, that is something that does get swapped around at some point by the time we make it deep into the second season.
