‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 18 video: Raj receives a gift from Emily

Even though Raj and Emily are no more on “The Big Bang Theory,” we’re getting now the latest bit of evidence that their story is not entirely over just yet…

In the sneak peek below, Kunal Nayyar’s character has been placed into a rather awkward situation as he has to try to figure out what a rather expensive gift means from his ex. The two only recently broke up, and he’s been feeling rather confused about his feelings ever since.

Does Raj care for her? We don’t think that has ever been in question, but the question now is whether or not he likes her to the same extent that she likes him. That’s been something that has simmered really since the end of this past season, and what we like about it is that this is really one of the first storylines of this kind for the guys on the show. Typically, they are pushed into the position of “oh, you’re lucky to have anyone,” and this is the sort of material that the show decides to work with since these are self-deprecating geeks. It’s nice to see that twisted up a little bit here.

At the end of the preview, Raj realizes that he is getting a phone call from Emily, which leads to both Penny and Bernadette giving him some “advice” … even if it is advice that benefits him more so than anyone else. We’ll have some further news on the show soon, so stay tuned!
