‘Teen Wolf’ season 5 finale reaction: Are the Dread Doctors, the Desert Wolf gone?
Tonight, “Teen Wolf” did a lot of big, bold things in their season finale, but the real beauty of it all was that it turned out that the biggest reason that Scott McCall was able to stop Sebastien / the Beast of Gevaudan was because of his memory of Allison. That was a very nice full-circle moment for the show, and this story seems done.
What about the Dread Doctors? They have been around for the past twenty episodes, but speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a finale postmortem, creator Jeff Davis made it clear that they will be gone from the story moving forward:
“…They are gone. I think we tied it up pretty nicely with the reveal of Marcel being The Surgeon. We wanted to say goodnight to that storyline. It was our first attempt at doing a storyline over 20 episodes and it’s hard to do. We are definitely going back to doing 10 episodes as one storyline.”
Also, what we learned through the finale is that there may be some sort of horrible Nazi werewolf on the loose now (seriously), and while the Desert Wolf seems to be stopped for now, Davis played it coy on whether or not that story is truly done. Marisol Nichols has just booked a pilot, so it’s going to be a little bit more challenging bringing her back in the event that lands. For now, the character seems to be off at Eichen House. The same sort of mystery ultimately seems to be out there for Theo.
