‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 15 reaction: Emily Bett Rickards on Oliver, Felicity’s future
Is it really over for Oliver and Felicity on “Arrow“? We cannot say for certain one way or another right now, but we definitely seeing some of the biggest signs to date that the characters are going to be spending a lot of time apart. After all, Felicity feels like she has to. Oliver not only kept the secret of his child William from her, but he also made a decision on his own as to how to deal with him going away, not even considering consulting someone who is supposed to be his fiancee.
At the moment, we’d say that Oliver is firmly in a position where he has to win her back, and it’s at least possible that he’ll be able to based on what Emily Bett Rickards said in a postmortem for Wednesday’s episode to Entertainment Weekly:
“I think they are each other’s soulmates … I don’t think it’s that easy to let go of someone that you have shared such a deep connection with, even if they were hiding things from you. She might be able to take off the ring, but I don’t know if she can lose the intertwined connection of her heart, so we’ll see.”
We hope that the next few episodes (beginning March 23) will show just what Oliver is willing and able to do in order to change the course of his relationship, but the main thing to remember here is simply that this is going to take time. You’re not going to be able to blink and see the two on the same page again; as a matter of fact, we know that they’re still apart at the time in which we see a character die later this season.
