‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 16 preview: Return date for Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, cast

Tonight, “Supernatural” season 11 aired one of our favorite episodes of the season in “Beyond the Mat,” one that was a perfect mix of nostalgia, humor, and heart. There was a good case at the center of all of it, but there was also a reminder in so many ways of how Sam and Dean may be destined to end up fighting and fighting for the rest of their lives. They’ve committed to an existence that is extremely lonely, and there have to be some really tough moments that come as a result of that.

Now, there’s something tough coming your way, as well: No new episodes for quite some time. The show is not returning to The CW with all-new episodes until March 23, and it will be doing so with an installment entitled “Safe House,” which is going to contain quite a few surprises and then some. Amara is still out there, and the battle involving Castiel / Lucifer and Crowley is going to intensify. There are many developments still to come this season, and that is definitely an exciting proposition.

As for when we could find out some more news in regards to what the upcoming episodes will be about in greater detail, it could be a matter of a week or so. Typically The CW does have a history of putting up episode synopses a couple of weeks in advance, so that is something that you can look forward to. Until then, though, the only suggestion that we really have is watch the promo below to your heart’s content and hope for some good stuff in the future.
