‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spin-off ‘Chicago Law’ adds Philip Winchester to potential cast
We’re still waiting to know for certain whether or not the “Chicago PD” spin-off “Chicago Law” is going to happen, but in the event that it does, we now know the first person who will be a part of the cast: Philip Winchester.
Sources confirm that the recent star of “The Player” is the first official cast member signed on to the prospective project, which could be introduced later on this season on “Chicago PD” if NBC decides to move forward with the project. For now, the only thing that they have done officially is make it clear that this is something that they are interested in. Ultimately, we understand why they’d at least want to consider the show, given the sole fact that this is a franchise from Dick Wolf that is pulling in a ton of money and ratings for the network. Four shows may be a little bit overkill, but if they haven’t had a problem just yet in convincing people to watch, why stop?
Ultimately, we’d be somewhat surprised in the event that this does not happen, if for no other reason than that if the network didn’t want it, they probably would not have let it get to this point. They don’t want to waste a whole lot of time or resources these days on things that just aren’t going to happen, and they know what this franchise brings to the table.
If “Chicago Law” is picked up, the idea is to premiere it during midseason, similar to how “Chicago PD” originally came on the air.
