‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 14 video: Oliver takes the (verbal) fight to Damien Darhk’s wife

Given that Damien Darhk has already made the promise on “Arrow” to take out those who Oliver Queen cares about, it only makes some sense that he would want revenge. However, that doesn’t mean that he is going to get it by kidnapping and causing problems this way.

The sneak peek below (via TV Guide) suggests that when taking on Darhk’s wife Ruve Adams on Wednesday night’s new episode, it will be in the form of a political debate. There’s still some separation in Darhk’s mind between Oliver and the Green Arrow; he wants to take them both out, and when it comes to the former, having his wife run for Mayor against him seems to be an easy way to do that.

The problem that Oliver runs into here is that he doesn’t want to be a monster who kills, but he also needs to find a way to ensure that nobody votes for this woman to win. He needs to do some digging, and this preview is mostly an exchange of subtle, snide comments from one person to the other. Through preliminary research Felicity and Thea have not found anything yet that they can use to take her down in the eyes of the public. Luckily, they’re going to keep digging in the hopes that something turns up, even though they are treading in dangerous waters here given that it’s possible that Ruve will be inspired in turn to come after him and learn a few rather-unbecoming things of her own. Hey, her husband already knows the truth about William and Samantha.

We’ll be back with more tonight on what is going to be a very important episode. It’s going to be a serious one, which is probably why it’s a good thing you have a minute or two to laugh with Felicity’s exploding invitation at the end of this.
