’24: Legacy’ spoilers: ‘The Messengers’ alum to star as hero’s wife
At the moment, Fox is still working to cultivate their latest incarnation of the “24” franchise in “24: Legacy,” and that includes finding who will be the wife of our leading many Eric Carter (played by Corey Hawkins of “The Walking Dead”).
According to a report from Deadline, former “The Messengers” star Anna Diop will be coming aboard the series as Nicole. It will be interested to see how she becomes a part of this series, and how she reacts to Eric, a war hero returning home, finding himself mixed up in a similar sort of world to what Jack Bauer populated for many years. These two are being joined on the series by recent “Homeland” standout Miranda Otto, who is playing Rebecca Ingram, the former head of the CTU who may be questioning why she decided to give up that job.
As of right now, “24: Legacy” is just a pilot, so it’s going to take a little bit of time for us to know for certain if this even gets picked up. We do not doubt the ability of the producers to tell a relevant, entertaining story; however, our main concern is just that the original was popular in the early going because of its innovation, and then popular for “24: Live Another Day” because of nostalgia. We’re not sure if this has either one of those factors going for it, so it needs a knockout of a first episode to prove that it can exist and thrive without Kiefer Sutherland around.
The plan is for “24: Legacy” to be a twelve-episode series just like “24: Live Another Day,” which should help its odds of being picked up thanks to it being a little bit of a lesser commitment.
