‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 15 review: Is Derek Morgan in trouble with Savannah?

We haven’t had an episode of “Criminal Minds” in a while, but last time we saw the team together they were working hard to solve a disturbing kidnapping case, but where was Tara Lewis? She was off on another assignment, so for those of you who have really enjoyed her being on the show, it was a bit of a disappointment. For us, she has fit in seamlessly into the group without over shadowing anyone (unlike last season where it felt like the whole season revolved around Jennifer Love Hewitt). If you were hoping to see her back in tonight’s episode, she’s still off working on another case, but there is still a lot of action happening tonight and a lot of it will be involving Shemar Moore’s, Derek Morgan.

Savannah wants to meet with Morgan for dinner saying that they “need to talk”, and he knows it’s not going to be good. He’s of course worried because he loves Savannah to death, but because they have a new case, the dinner will have to wait. We were worried that the thought of Savannah having some news to tell him might rattle him a bit and affect the case, but of course he was on point as always. More then that we are hoping that Savannah’s “we need to talk” might actually be good news. At the end of the case he sends her a text saying he can’t wait to see her and her texts are much more friendly back to him asking him to bring home ice cream… could she be pregnant? He calls her and asks her if everything is okay since she said she needed to talk to him, and she assures him that everything is great, but as he is talking on the phone, he is attacked by some men. He tells her to call Hotch right away, because he is in serious trouble to say the least.

We haven’t had a lot of Derek this season, so it was nice to have an episode that had a lot more focus on one of our favorites. Watching Derek get kidnapped at the end of the episode has us worried for him, and the next new episode can’t come soon enough, but we are hopeful that he will make it out of this one alive. They can’t kill off Derek… can they? Episode grade: A-
