‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Paget Brewster returning as Emily Prentiss

While Paget Brewster may no longer be a permanent part of “Criminal Minds,” one thing we do certainly like is that she certainly seems game for a return appearance here and there … including one for an upcoming episode airing later this spring.

While the circumstances surrounding Emily Prentiss’ return are somewhat unclear, this marks her first return to the show since the 200th installment back in season 9. She was a regular for the first several seasons of the show, and departed her full-time gig following season 7.

Is it possible that someday Brewster could be a regular once more? We’d never say never, but for the time being it seems as though she’s got plenty of other stuff on her plate right now. Paget is a regular right now on Fox’s “Grandfathered,” which is what makes it great that she was able to return to “Criminal Minds” to begin with this year. Her future on this show will probably be dictated in part by if that show gets renewed, and whether or not there are some other opportunities that start coming in her direction.

While you await for the return of Prentiss, a new episode of “Criminal Minds” will air on CBS tonight. There will be a one-week hiatus on February 17 thanks to the premiere of “Survivor,” but following that you will have a new episode on the 24th, and then on March 2 when we get the much-anticipated episode “Derek” that is going to feature Shemar Moore’s character in a rather critical situation.
