‘The Good Wife’ season 7: Archie Panjabi unlikely to return before series finale
Since we’re still on the subject of “The Good Wife” and it coming to an end later this spring, we may as well touch on one more question: Whether or not there could be a return for Archie Panjabi and her character of Kalinda in the cards. She’s beloved still by many fans, and we also feel like at the same time there was not the right sort of closure for the character. Her last season with Julianna Margulies was shot via split-screen, which felt like an insult to many fans of the show.
Unfortunately, there’s almost no chance seemingly that Kalinda will be making another appearance. While on a conference call today creators Robert and Michelle King made it clear that because of the way in which Kalinda left (mostly to go into hiding), there would not be a logical reason to have her return to the show.
Could someone create a logical reason for it to happen if they really wanted to? We feel like it is, but ultimately it just seems like we’re going to have to accept that for whatever reason, the show wants to distance itself from Kalinda as much as it can. All we know is that Archie was ready to film her final scene alongside Margulies at the end of season 6, and for one reason or another it didn’t happen.
It’s still to be seen who else could return for the finale of “The Good Wife,” which is set to air in early May. We’ll have more news as it starts to come out.
