Fox moves ‘Second Chance’ to Fridays alongside ‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3
Start creating all of your jokes about “Second Chance” right now: The show isn’t going to get any more chances on Fox Wednesday nights.
Following some low-rated outings on the network, you will have a chance to see the drama move to Fridays starting on January 29, where it will air at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The show will get the benefit of a “Sleepy Hollow” lead-in starting on February 5, but at the same time that’s probably not anywhere near what it had following “American Idol,” which at least gave it a chance
The reality here is that despite its Frankenstein-like premise, “Second Chance” just couldn’t get a lot of love from anyone. Critics ravaged the show, and we’ve seen the numbers slide already through two airings. There is no reason for Fox to keep the show in a quality timeslot, sadly, if they no longer have any faith for it. As it was, the show served primarily as filler while they waited until March 30, when their #1 show in “Empire” returns with all-new episode.
As for what show is going to step into “Second Chance’s” place on Wednesday night, think along the lines of “Hell’s Kitchen.” This show continues to be the little engine that could for Fox, airing and drawing good ratings despite not really doing anything to change its format at any point in the past several years.
We’re going to have some further insight when it comes to “Second Chance” and “Sleepy Hollow” as the news starts to come out. Be on the lookout.
