‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 14 review: Sylvester’s dad; Happy’s confession; Walter and Paige’s duet
Last week “Scorpion” season 2 came back on the air after the holiday hiatus and they threw us right back into the action. Not only did we have the team in serious danger in Antarctica, but we also had a very intense and intimate moment between Happy and Toby. Happy has been focused on turning things around for herself and has been working on opening up and letting people in to get to know her, and that includes one Dr. Toby Curtis.
There were many nice moments for Toby and Happy during “Son of a Gun,” but the biggest one came when she admitted that she is actually falling for him! Isn’t this sweet? We love the journey that the writers have taken these two characters on over time, and where we could eventually go with them is to a place where they can still have their quirks while being in a functioning relationship at the same time. Who wouldn’t want to see a wedding for them down the road?
Speaking of couples, we are still hoping for more great stuff from Walter and Paige, and they definitely had their own super-sweet moment in this episode courtesy of their duet together during a karaoke event. If you have Katharine McPhee, shouldn’t you have her sing as much as you can? Makes sense, and this was a super-fun moment given what we had earlier with speed-dating as well. There was a lot of great stuff throughout the hour for Mr. O’Brien, and more fun stuff could be coming.
As for Sylvester getting to show his father (Jeff Fahey) throughout the episode that he could be a hero, that was the icing on the cake. There was father-son bonding, romance, and plenty of action. Overall, a banner hour for “Scorpion” fans. Episode grade: B+.
