‘Better Call Saul’ season 2: Show exec on key ‘decisions’ coming up

Better Call Saul season 2“Better Call Saul” has to be one of the most-anticipated shows of the new year, and there is a perfectly good reason for that: There are some great things still to come! We have yet to officially see Jimmy McGill become Saul Goodman, but this is something that will come over time. Jimmy has already made the decision that he is no longer going to do things just because his brother Chuck wants him to, or because he’s trying to impress anyone. He’s looking out for #1, but that doesn’t mean he is breaking bad, either. It’s complicated. This is a guy who still has an inherent desire to do good for some people.

In trying to describe what this story is going to be on the series moving forward, executive producer Peter Gould had the following message to pass along via TV Guide:

“This season is about characters trying to have it both ways, trying to have their cake and eat it too … The truth is, sometimes you have to make a decision, and sometimes there’s sacrifices that are very difficult to make.”

This statement is meant obviously to also apply to Mike, who continues to do his own dealings under the guise of helping those close to him. Of course, the Walter White comparisons are going to be there with that in mind; Mike’s not one to admit his feelings, so we feel like he’s going to be quick to hide how much he may enjoy some of his shady dealings.
