New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2016: 5 Seconds of Summer perform ‘Hey Everybody’
There are many notable moments that are taking place on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” this year, but one of the most entertaining parts of it for many of course come via the musical performances … even the pre-taped ones.
It has been beyond a doubt a great year for 5 Seconds of Summer. The band has quickly become one of the biggest ones currently playing around the world, and for the show this year, they are doing a set of hits. The first one in “Hey Everybody” aired fairly early on in the night tonight, but still was a number that the crowd certainly seemed to enjoy. They’ll be back later for more, and over time we could imagine them getting even more prime real estate on the show if they continue this meteoric rise.
So will this group end up being the biggest hitmakers of 2016? We’re not sure just yet, mostly because this is a very unpredictable industry. With that said, their recent Rolling Stone cover story does suggest that there could be some more big things happening for them in the future. That’s the sort of publicity that almost every band hopes for, and that sets the stage for some potentially huge things to take place in 2016.
As for providing a video of the performance, it’s going to be rather hard to find. Dick Clark Productions monitor this stuff on YouTube and other social-media sites like nobody’s business, especially on a night like this one. Let’s hope you had a chance to catch it live.
