‘Downton Abbey’ season 6: See Gordon Ramsay, Michelle Keegan, more cameos in ‘Text Santa’ sketch
ITV has made an annual tradition our of their “Text Santa” charity special, and one of the most entertaining things about it to us is that we see time and time again a willingness on the part of the “Downton Abbey” cast and crew to have a little bit of fun with themselves.
For the latest example of that, you don’t have to look any further than the video below! In this, you can see what is basically the Downton version of “Britain’s Got Talent,” with everyone from Gordon Ramsay to Warwick Davis to Michelle Keegan to many more stopping by to try out to become a grand entertainer for the estate this holiday season. We even get an appearance in here from a dancing Mr. Carson, something we certainly did not expect to see coming.
We’ll keep the ending a secret for now, but the one part of this that is a little sad / nostalgic is that this may be the second-to-last time that we see the likes of Hugh Bonneville and Jim Carter as their famed characters. The series finale is the upcoming Christmas Special airing in just six days on ITV, or in March for those who watch the show in America. They still have a proper sixth season to get through.
For those who remember, “Text Santa” is the same charity event last year that featured a cameo appearance from none other than Hollywood megastar George Clooney. Given that “Downton” will be over by this point next year, we have a hard time imagining that it is going to surface once more with the same cast.
