‘Quantico’ episode 11 reaction: Show boss on Elias twist, Caleb’s involvement
Is Caleb really the one pulling the strings on the “Quantico” winter finale? We feel like the episode was constructed in a way to really make you wonder that, given the closing scene featured him using an alter ego, and discussing the proximity of some rather large safety deposit boxes to Grand Central Station.
Unfortunately, showrunner Josh Safran would not confirm this one way or another in an interview posted after the episode to TVLine. There are still things that we will learn about this character in the future, so maybe this is your major cliffhanger here. He did, however, confirm that Elias is definitely dead (you don’t always know that in the TV world these days), and explained that his story was in some ways the big reveal announced for this episode:
“Elias definitely is a terrorist, but whether he is a pawn of a larger mastermind or whether he acted alone is going to form sort of an arc of episodes moving forward. But he still did enact at least part of a plan — if not the plan that ended up killing many, many people. So you have definitely learned the identity of aterrorist. The question of whether he’s the only one remains to be seen, and it comes down to whether you believe what Elias was saying in the hotel room as the truth, or if you believe it was purely him biding time to get everybody in place in the emergency command center.”
Obviously, we feel that this goes so much beyond him, given that otherwise, would the show be that intense moving forward? Connecting the dots will be part of what makes it interesting.
