‘Blue Bloods’ season 6, episode 10 review: Frank and a flag-burning fracas
“Blue Bloods” season 6 has been a rough go of things for Danny Reagan, mostly because it seems like right when things are starting to get peaceful, something else happens where everything blows up in his face.
Tonight, the problem for Donnie Wahlberg’s character was trying to piece together a story revolving an old partner where almost nobody wanted to help him. In the end, he found some help … but not necessarily the peace or the solution he was seeking. We wish we could chalk his search up in the win column this week, but alas, the problems still remain. When’s the guy going to get a definite win? He’s had the serial killer, investigations into his family, and now this.
Jamie and Eddie try to help a child – Part of being a cop at times involves speaking to children, but while doing it the two ran into a problem: A girl who was out to proclaim them murderers after what happened to her father. Yes, we are getting a lot of “cops are evil” stories at the moment, but it makes sense. This is what is in the public consciousness, and the show has to tackle it. What made this story so sensitive and raw was seeing how the story impacted the cop who was the shooter. Not only that, but also how all parties were able to move forward.
Frank’s potential fiasco – Do you authorize a protest group to burn the American flag at a rally? He had no choice but to do so when looking at the law, but that did not mean that he agreed with the action itself. What he did to resolve it is actually somewhat craft for Frank: He had the venue for the protest moved to a cemetery where a personal connection would make it far too difficult to go through with it. It was yet another powerful moment in what we’d say was a solid way to end the first half of the season. Grade: B.
