‘The Flash’ season 2 winter finale video: Exec on Barry – Patty conflict ahead

Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Flash” has already been rather extensively hyped as one featuring some popular villains: The Trickster (Mark Hamill), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre). With that being said, it is the latter who could have a huge role to play in changing the relationship between Barry Allen and Patty Spivot.

If you remember, Patty’s ties to the Wizard and her history are the main reasons why she has gone into a career in law enforcement, and she is very interested in doing what she can in order to get justice. However, what’s the difference between doing the right thing and getting revenge? This is something that executive producer Gabrielle Stanton asks in the new video below via The CW.

Are we worried for Patty’s life? Sure, mostly because this has been a recurring character so far on the show, and there is no guarantee that she sticks around. Granted, with that said we’d like for her to. While we think that Barry’s endgame is still with Iris, maybe she could form a connection with someone like Cisco over time? Clearly he’s not meant to be with Kendra Saunders, and he’s hurting a little right now. There’s also a part of us that wants to see a story where an Earth-2 version of her is someone completely different, similar to a Linda Park / Dr. Light dilemma.

For now, we’re just going to have to wait to see what the winter finale brings us, but for now, it’s fair to say that we are certainly excited and then some.
