‘The X Factor’ UK: The latest ‘fix’ shenanigans after Lauren Murray elimination

Lauren -

At this point, we’re thinking about making a hobby out of mocking “X Factor” – fix rumors. There seems to be a new one every week, with each one more ludicrous that the last. It began this season with Olly Murs preemptively eliminated Monica Michael, a sign that he was losing track of the judges’ vote count. Then, you had Simon Cowell supposedly telling the other judges to save Che Chesterman over his own act Anton Stephans, which makes no sense given that he probably knew full well that they were going to do that.

Now, you’ve got the lattest chatter stemming from some of Lauren Murray’s comments the day of the elimination … namely the fact that she seemed to mouth “Louisa” while waiting for someone to be declared safe after Reggie ‘n Bollie. some out there took this as a sign that Louisa is the chosen one and everyone knows it. The one thing we’ll say about is that the show probably would love it if Louisa was the winner. However, at the same time they’d probably also be happy with Reggie ‘n Bollie getting that crown as well. They just want someone taking the title who could have some commercial relevancy, and it doesn’t matter who it is.

However, the real reason Lauren seemed to be mouthing this had nothing to do with claims that Louisa was just put through to the final by default; Lauren’s a smart person, and she knew that past votes had put her and Che Chesterman in the bottom two. She was just mouthing it as assurance of what would probably be happening next, and she was right.

In the end, it is of course a bummer that Lauren is out here; however, her iTunes results have shown a level of commercial appeal, and she’ll almost certainly be signed by someone to a record deal. You will be hearing from her again.
