‘Major Crimes’ season 4 spoilers: First look at ‘Reality Check’

Major Crimes -

What happens when you combine the worlds of crime-solving and reality television? The November 16 episode of “Major Crimes” is entitled “Reality Check,” and will throw some of the characters into a world that has been popularized in so many different ways. One of our favorite episodes of “Psych” was a dive into this universe, while of course “UnREAL” has blown up the entire genre in a way that few others have.

There’s not going to be too much that “Major Crimes” can do over the course of one hour to make an expose on this particular type of TV; instead, they will focus probably more on solving the case, with the setting in some ways being secondary. The synopsis below gives you a sense of what to expect, including with a powerful character moment for Sanchez:

“Sharon and the team investigate a murder during the taping of a reality competition show pitting married couples against each other. The case has a profound effect on Sanchez, bringing back memories of his late wife. Meanwhile, Rusty meets Slider’s lawyer, played by Greg Riikaart from ‘The Young and the Restless.'”

For those wondering, this synopsis should be just about all the proof that you need that the story with Rusty and Slider is clearly not going anywhere anytime soon, and will continue to play out throughout many of the upcoming episodes. This is something that we started to get a sense was coming during the show’s fall premiere this past week.

Check back tomorrow night for a “Major Crimes” review and much more.
