‘Downton Abbey’ season 6 Christmas Special (series finale): What’s next for Michelle Dockery, cast?
Despite whatever ITV may have tried to throw at you tonight with their promotion for “Downton Abbey,” this was not the last episode of the series. It is just the last one that is airing at its regularly-scheduled time. There is one more story to be told this season, and you’re going to have a chance to see it come Christmas Day.
Unfortunately, thanks to it being such a long period of time away, it is far too early to have many details right now about what to expect from it other than a few simple things.
1. It’s feature-length – Like many other editions over the course of the past few years, ITV will go all out here in giving you a lengthy installment of TV to watch.
2. There will be surprise guests – With this being the last episode of the show, the network will be very much invested in giving you at least a few happy returns from seasons past.
3. There will be some happiness – While we cannot sit here and guarantee that everyone is going to be departing the series particularly satisfied with the story as a whole, we do think that the show will try to at least resolve matters in a way that leaves some satisfied. It is just to be seen if everyone will be pleased by what transpires in the end. (Our hope is that Mary turns it around completely, largely because Michelle Dockery’s character has been through quite a bit.)
By the time we make it to the end of the month, hopefully we are going to have some other insight into what could be coming up. Stay tuned!
