Are ‘The Good Wife,’ ‘Madam Secretary’ delayed tonight by NFL football?
It’s that time of year now where virtually every program airing on Sunday night is impacted one way or another thanks to the NFL. Either they are airing up against a big game somewhere, or they are having to contend with numerous delays thanks to coverage.
On CBS, this has a tendency to happen rather often, and odds are, it is going to be taking place tonight. The regularly scheduled start time at the moment for “Madam Secretary” and “The Good Wife” at the moment is 8:30 p.m. Eastern, but there is a very good chance that this will change at some point before they actually air. You are going to have to wait for a little while before it becomes clear when they will start properly, but we will have further news soon. Refresh this page! Typically, delays run anywhere from just a few minutes to a good half an hour depending on how long the game runs. We have seen occasions in the past where the 10:00 p.m. Eastern / 10:30 p.m. show like “CSI: Cyber” is preempted entirely due to it airing outside of primetime. It would not be entirely revolutionary if that happens tonight.
Update: “Madam Secretary” will start at 8:36, with “The Good Wife” an hour later.
Of course, we’ll also have more information story-wise on some of these shows soon, at least in the form of previews for what will be coming up moving forward. There is still quite a bit of story left to tell for both of these series.
