TV Quick Hits: ‘Silicon Valley’ season 3 scoop; Britney Spears – ‘Jane the Virgin’ peek; ‘Grandfathered’ picked up

Fox keeps “Grandfathered” in the family – We expected this really from the moment that it was first announced that we were getting a full season of “The Grinder” on Fox, but isn’t it quite nice to have official confirmation? On Wednesday, Fox confirmed that they are going to be giving a full season to the John Stamos comedy “Grandfathered,” which is definitely great news for everyone who follows that show.

While it is no guarantee of a second season, at least you can consider this a nice show of faith by the network that we could end up seeing this series become something more.

“Silicon Valley” casting news – One of our favorite character actors in Stephen Tobolowsky is officially aboard the show’s third season, and in a role that could be threatening to the guys at Pied Piper. Jack Barker is a powerful CEO in the area, and Deadline (who announced the casting) describes him as “aggressive” and “formidable.” Given what we have seen already from Stephen’s comedy chops, it feels almost like a foregone conclusion to say he is going to be brilliant on this show.

Britney Spears on “Jane the Virgin” – You are going to see the pop sensation on the upcoming November 9 installment of the CW series, and based on the first-look photo below via People Magazine, it already feels pretty fair to say that this could be a rather fun time! There’s not too much else here to say, other than that Britney joins a wide array of great guest stars including Kesha and Paulina Rubio.
