‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 16 review: Did Carter tell Jared the truth?
“Finding Carter” certainly has taken some unexpected detours in season 2 so far, hasn’t it? Let’s just put it this way: If you were to tell us that at the midway point of the season that Carter was going to be romancing a 25-year old bartender named Jared, we would have laughed at you. The same goes for Carter and David showing up so that Lori and Ben could have a better check-in visit. This was nuts for the most part.
Carter has gotten herself romantically wrapped up with a guy who doesn’t even know the real her, and that may be why she is enjoying it so much. It is a chance to step outside of herself somewhat, and into another identity. Still, it means that this is probably going to end badly. She’s helped to save his bar, but she really cannot save herself in this situation.
At the end of the episode, Carter finally came clean. Nothing is tied up in a bow, but she has to realize just how difficult a spot she now has her boss in. Not only has he been getting close to someone who is a minor, but he’s also been having her serving alcohol! He may need to get a little better at spotting fake IDs before his next hire. Judging from the preview, though, it looks like she is staying put.
As for some other assorted stories, Gabe finally revealed to Taylor that he is harboring feelings, and thankfully, it is not going anywhere. For her to flip on Max would be terrible given what they’ve already been through. Also, David departed for the time being, but not before a heartfelt scene or two. Grade: B.
