‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, ‘Talking Dead’ rise with Steven Yeun shocker
As you would imagine, there was quite a lot of interest in “The Walking Dead” and “Talking Dead” this past weekend thanks to what you had a chance to see take place in the story.
How much so? Well, let’s do our best here to spell it out. The latest new episode entitled “Thank You” drew a 6.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and also 13.1 million viewers. This is an increase compared to the second episode, which is nice given how many of us have wondered whether or not the show was starting to slide thanks to it being on the air so long.
Granted, we could see the numbers drop if fans feel like the big twist, which revolved around Glenn (Steven Yeun) possibly dying in a sea of walkers, ends up cheapening the brand and the idea that anyone can die.
In addition to these ratings, “Talking Dead” on Sunday had its largest audience to date in 6.8 million viewers and also 3.9 million within the key demo. Of course, you can attribute a vast majority of this to people wondering whether or not we were going to see Yeun appear to discuss the “end” of his character’s story. Our feeling is that the lack of Yeun on the show is a pretty strong indicator that this is not the end of him. Maybe he dies later on, but given the evidence right now, it feels like the show is not done with him and won’t be for a while.
