‘Reign’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Amy Brenneman returns in ‘The Price’
The story on “Reign” is probably only going to get more and more dramatic in the weeks ahead, and there is pretty clearly a reason why: After all, the show is going to be losing Francis at some point moving forward this season, and the question is mostly when.
The good news for fans of Toby Regbo is that we’ve seen Francis mentioned in future synopses on the show, and therefore, we don’t see him going away on next week’s “The Price.” However, that doesn’t mean that there will not be drama elsewhere. Amy Brenneman (who is rather busy on “The Leftovers”) will still have the time to appear next week as Mary’s mother, but the bad news is that like Toby, she is also suffering from some health issues of her own. The synopsis below gives you a little bit more information in terms of what to expect:
“After Mary (Adelaide Kane) receives an urgent message from her ailing mother (guest star Amy Brenneman) about the dire situation in Scotland, she finds herself looking to Francis (Toby Regbo) for aid. Catherine (Megan Follows) finds herself up against Narcisse (Craig Parker) as she fights to become the regent to Charles (guest star Spencer MacPherson).”
By the time we make it to the end of this episode, maybe we’ll learn a little more in regards to how everyone’s physical health is, and then to go along with that, how Mary is emotionally coping. This has to be one of the most trying times of the character’s life, and for so many reasons.
