‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: When will AJ Cook officially return?
While AJ Cook is a series regular on “Criminal Minds,” there has been a lack of JJ in all of the episodes so far … but for very good reason. The actress recently welcomed a child and is on maternity leave, which is one of the reasons why Aisha Tyler was brought in during the early going this season as Dr. Tara Lewis. It’s surely possible that Tyler could appear still in the future once Cook returns, but she’s not listed as a regular and has a wide array of other jobs.
For those of you who were specifically looking for an answer on Cook’s return date, we are rather pleased to have for you now some sort of answer on that: Episode 7, which will be airing more than likely at some point next month. The actress confirmed the news in a post on Instagram, and also included the following caption:
“To all those concerned: Don’t worry! I’ll be back on #criminalminds episode 7. Thank you for missing me and thank you for understanding that I need #mommytime ❤️❤️❤️”
“Criminal Minds” has brought in a variety of different stories to help compensate for Cook’s arrival, whether it be focusing on some particularly-terrifying UnSubs to the Dirty Dozen, which are going to be a key part of much of this season. When JJ comes back to the BAU, we cannot imagine that it will take her too much to be brought up to speed. She’s pretty good at this at this point.
