‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ episode 3 preview: An unprecedented change
Despite being a returning-player season, “Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance” still offered up a fairly predictable boot for the second straight week Wednesday. It was clear that thanks to a few simple actions on the part of Shirin and Spencer, they put themselves in a position for one of them to go home. Sometimes, not speaking to the right person at the right time can be enough.
With Shirin gone, Spencer now has a second chance within a second chance season to save himself, and he’s going to now get an opportunity to be a part of one of the craziest twists yet: A tribe swap like no other! In past seasons, you are always either swapping or merging tribes together. This is the first time in the history of the show that we’ve seen tribes actually expand from two to three. This is the way that many seasons start; heck, “All-Stars” began this way! In this case, though, we are two episodes in and we have utterly no clue how this will all play out.
The people who are probably in the best spots moving forward are the ones who have established a good reputation so far. We’re talking here about people like Terry or Kass, who seem to each be making great efforts to evolve from where they were the first time that they were in the game. Spencer or Stephen, who was clearly struggling to a certain extent on Bayon, are both probably in a little bit of danger depending on where the chips fall and who ends up with who.
These sort of twists are always the sort we tend to second-guess after they happen, but we’ll put it out there that for now, we love it. Any chance you hit these people with something they do not expect is a chance you take ten times out of ten.
We’ll have more coverage of this in the days ahead, but for now head over here to read our review of Wednesday’s episode. Also, you can sign up here to have some other TV news sent right to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
