‘Doctor Who’ season 9, episode 3 spoilers: First look at ‘Under the Lake’

Doctor Who -While Halloween may not be upon us until we get to October 31, clearly the writers and producers of “Doctor Who” have no interest in waiting that long. It is for that reason that we are getting an upcoming installment like “Under the Lake,” which is set to air on October 3. The BBC has already released a synopsis for it, and based on what we have below, it looks like we could have a proper ghost story coming up:

“When an underwater base comes under attack, the Doctor and Clara must save the frightened crew and defeat an impossible threat. But what is behind these terrifying events? And can they really be haunted by ghosts?”

By the time that we get to the end of this episode, we are probably going to have some sort of massive cliffhanger ending that gets up excited for the one that is coming in the week that follows. It’s a little bit different sharing synopses for this season for that particular reason.

Superficially, one thing to be intrigued about here is that in between the underwater base and the idea of ghosts, we could have what is one of the cooler episodes of the season visually. We are always thrilled about that, since we’d argue that one of the joys of watching “Doctor Who” is that it provides you with a real opportunity to stretch your imagination and focus more on worlds that you would never think about in any other form.
