‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: Mayim Bialik teases Sheldon – Amy developments

Big Bang -The premiere of “The Big Bang Theory” season 9 is now mere hours away, and this means a chance to have many of your key questions answered. Not only will we learn a thing or two more all about whether or not Leonard and Penny have a successful wedding, we’re also going to get a chance to see if Sheldon and Amy even still end up together after everything that they have been through so far (which is a lot).

At the end of last season, Amy said that she needed some space … which is not something we’re sure that Sheldon is ready to give her, given that “space” is not something that he really excels in giving people. Speaking to TVLine at the Emmys, star Mayim Bialik does make it very clear that the relationship is not a subject that the writers are going to bring up in the premiere, and then sweep under the rug for a while. It will be taken on through much of the early part of the season when the show airs on Monday nights:

“We definitely deal with the relationship head on for the first five episodes … Jim Parsons and I are still curious where it’s going to go.

“[The writers are] really experimenting with what this is bringing up for Sheldon and what it means for him, and how far he can be pushed emotionally.”

We have a hard time imagining that “The Big Bang Theory” ends without Sheldon and Amy together. However, you can’t just change Sheldon as a character to get him back with Amy. You have to figure out a way to make this happen without compromising or changing who this character is, and we know that this is not easy. We wouldn’t be surprised if this even took half a season to figure out.
