‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Vanessa Williams set to romance Eli
It was just one week ago when Vanessa Williams was in the news over her finally getting an apology from the Miss America organization over some controversy that first erupted many years ago. Now, we have something very different to report when it comes to the actress.
According to a report from TVLine (who confirmed the news alongside star Alan Cumming at the Emmys this evening), Williams has been cast for an arc this coming season as a love interest for his character of Eli Gold. Given that we are down for any story that gives Alan some meaty material, we are very happy about this. Also, we’ve seen enough of Williams over the years to know that she is awesome. She is familiar to Sunday-night programming already thanks to “Desperate Housewives,” and was recently a part of “Royal Pains.”
The new season of “The Good Wife” is going to be premiering on CBS on Sunday, October 4, and it will do so with a story that certainly finds Alicia and hopefully Eli in some exciting new places as their careers continue to move, shake, and evolve. The State’s Attorney storyline is done, and now she faces new challenges.
Over the course of the next few months, we imagine that we’ll get a chance to see some more great news when it comes to casting news and more. “The Good Wife” is routinely an Emmy favorite, and that is one of the reasons why we are able to write about it right now in the first place.
