‘Graceland’: What are season 4 renewal odds entering tonight’s finale?
Tonight, fans of “Graceland” can look forward to what will be hopefully a fascinating and explosive finale to a show that is certainly generating plenty of buzz among its fan base.
However, is this going to be the season or the series finale? That is something that USA has not tipped its cap on just yet. At one point, this was a network that showed a tremendous amount of loyalty to its properties, and you never had to worry about whether or not something was going to get a proper ending. However, that was years ago, and to be fair most of their shows were getting better ratings then. Other than “Suits” and “Mr. Robot,” we’re not sure that the network has a show that would be considered an enormous hit right now.
We will be honest in this article and say that going into the finale, we’re nervous about the future. It took a long time last year for USA to order a season 3, and the ratings are down significantly versus this point in season 2. For example, the penultimate episode last week drew a 0.2 in the 18-49 demographic, while the same episode from season 2 had more than twice that rating. Interestingly, the show has kept a better total of its overall viewers; 810,000 people (approximately) watched last week’s episode, compared to 1.1 million for the same last year. While you can argue that season 2 had a better timeslot and lead-in, we’re not sure the network cares about that.
One other concern? “Graceland” hails from an outside studio, and it has become increasingly difficult for cable shows to survive with mediocre ratings unless they are produced by a studio owned by the same parent company at the network.
While we’re worried, continue to keep fighting! Be sure to tweet about the series, and make sure USA knows that you love it.
