‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Sophie Bush’s Lindsay finds a mission in first teaser

For those of you out there who have been clamoring for a first-look promo for “Chicago PD” season 3, we have it for you below … and it is definitely intense in just about every way you would expect for this show.

Let’s start with the most important event that takes place in it: Halstead is captured! Jesse Lee Soffer’s character is held hostage, and it is quickly demanded by the captors that a female officer is who is sent to “negotiate.” That female officer in this case just so happens to be Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush), who openly volunteers for the job.

Of course, we have to say here that Lindsay getting herself involved in this sort of situation is definitely problematic and then some. Why? We begin with what happened at the end of season 2, where Lindsay decided to turn in her badge and fall back into some of her old ways: Drinking, and spending time around her damaged mother Bunny. The longer that this happens, and the worse off she is going to be. In the opening moments of season 3, she is certainly not going to be in a good place.

Could helping Jay be what causes her to come to her senses a little bit? We have to think for the time being that this is a pretty likely possibility for the character. While having Lindsay struggle makes for compelling drama and is some great material for Bush to play, the reality here is that this show is mostly about the team together. We cannot see them deviating from that for long.
