‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Sophia Bush on where Lindsay’s story picks up

“Chicago PD” is going to be the first of the three Chicago-set Dick Wolf series to start airing on September 30, and when it does came back on the air, the story of Erin Lindsay is going to be even further downhill. She is someone who was at one point secure with her job with Intelligence and also in her personal life, but all of that has changed in the aftermath of what happened at the end of last season. She is back to some of her old addictions, and once she starts down this road, it is not entirely easy to pull her out of it.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sophia Bush detailed where the story for her character is going to pick up after the events of the finale, and also how her getting back with her mother Bunny is creating even more problems for her:

“It’s been about three weeks and when you’re going on a bender, three weeks is a very long time. You can get into some serious trouble. Bunny has really re-inserted herself into Lindsay’s life and we know what a negative influence she is. She’s doing whatever she can to numb the pain and none of it’s good.”

Bush also commented that there is only a certain period of time in which Lindsay will be apart from the group, given that her story leaving Intelligence last season was shortened far beyond the initial plan because of fan reaction. Viewers ultimately want to see her around other characters that they know and love, and not separated from them.
