‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: Claire Holt and Nathaniel Buzolic will be in premiere
Speaking to TV Guide, not only did executive producer Michael Narducci confirm that Holt will be around, but that she will be joined by both Nathaniel Buzolic and Casper Zafer, the original actor who played Finn on “The Vampire Diaries.” This is his first appearance turning up on the spin-off. As expected, this will be a flashback, and it is going to give you more insight into what this family was like:
“[It’s] a flashback that we’ve never seen before … We’ve always understood that the Mikaelson family, the brothers and sister, had to flee in the wake of Esther’s death by Klaus’ hands. Klaus blamed Mikael and said, ‘We have to go. Our father is insane,’ and for a very long time Mikael chased them. So wouldn’t it be cool to see the family not long after that? What was their state of mind? What were their relationships like? How did they relate to one another knowing Mikael was out there somewhere, and they’re relatively new vampires so what was their existence like? I think it might be surprising and interesting.”
Clearly, one of the wonderful luxuries of doing a show like “The Originals” is that you have such a long period of history to work with. Specifically, we’re talking about centuries upon centuries, and we’ve only scratched the surface of what the lives of these characters were like. There’s never going to be a shortage of material to tap into so long as the writers continue to have great ideas.
