‘Shameless’ season 6, Damian Lewis’ ‘Billions’ land premiere dates at Showtime
For all of those who love Showtime original programming, great news today coming out of TCA: The network has officially confirmed now the premiere dates for two of their shows in “Shameless” as well as new series “Billions.” They will both start on Sunday, January 17, with “Shameless” leading the way in its familiar timeslot of 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
What’s the major difference between this year and past ones? It’s that over the course of the past several years “Shameless” has been followed with “House of Lies,” and the Don Cheadle comedy (which has lost some ratings steam as of late) is now nowhere to be seen on this schedule. The Damian Lewis – Paul Giamatti drama is one that Showtime is very much excited to get out to air, and we understand why. While the idea of Wall Street as a setting may not be the most exciting in the world to some, you’ve got such a great cast here (Maggie Siff is also involved) that this is almost a guaranteed hit for them.
In going back to “Shameless,” take a look at the official synopsis for the new season below, courtesy of the network itself.
“Season six of Shameless picks up a few months after last year’s finale, leaving the Gallaghers to prepare for yet another long Chicago winter. This season will see more than just the arctic Lake Michigan winds whipping through the Southside. Change is hard and the Gallaghers are as surprised as anyone at how life is turning out for them. But the question remains, as they come into their own and find out who they are, is it really possible that the Gallaghers could grow apart for good?”
