‘Masters of Sex’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Betty tries to fix Bill’s back

When it comes to entertaining “Masters of Sex” sneak peeks, you really do not have to look any further than the one that we have for you below. As a matter of fact, we may go so far as to say that this is one of the funniest previews that we’ve ever seen for the show.

This is one that it is also pretty easy to set up. Bill Masters is dealing with a little bit of back trouble, and as a result of this, he is looking for just about any way possible to get a little bit of relief. This is where Betty enters the picture, offering to use some of her skills to help him out. Betty’s a little stronger than we gave her credit for! Watching her try to hoist Bill up to fix some of his back problems is pretty hysterical, and the end of the scene especially really feels like something almost out of a comedy, and not a Showtime drama series.

In some ways, this sneak peek is a reflection on some of the subtle tonal changes to the show over time, especially in this third season. Now that we’re in a different era and Masters and Johnson are no longer scraping the bottom of the barrel, it is clear that the show is allowing them to have a little bit more fun in turn.

Granted, let’s make it clear here that there are still going to be plenty of struggles that are made apparent over time, so be on the lookout for some of those.
