‘Big Brother 17’ review: Shelli or Clay’s eviction, Derrick Levasseur, and an endurance HoH competition
Tonight, there was yet another eventful episode of “Big Brother,” and there were many different events taking place. We had not only an eviction, but some sort of return for the Hitmen and also the beginning of an endurance competition (at least per a CBS press release).
We’re going to reviewing this episode live (as always), so let’s get right to it.
Tears, tears, and more tears – This was for the most part just awkward, since Shelli was tearfully explaining how she was going to save herself in this game. Also, plenty of crying just about everything else. Sure, Shelli and Clay are not going to be together in the real world in the same way they were in the house (it’s always going to be different), but they act as if one of them is going to be shipped via trap door into a dungeon. Sure, the Sixth Sense is sort of working together for now, but we feel like the odds are about 0.0001% that these five are your final five. They’ll turn on one another soon enough.
Derrick and Cody – We love Derrick as a game-player, and no doubt the Hitmen are a great alliance. We were hoping that maybe they were bringing back the BB Takeover or doing something other than a lengthy update segment, though. There has been so much craziness going on in the house that would’ve been fun to see!
The vote – For the first time all season, the vote was unanimous. While there was debate all week long, Clay did everything he could this afternoon to tick everyone off and get all the votes. There was no need to hinky votes. Clay’s exit interview was an attempt by him to be boring, and an attempt by Julie Chen to troll the heck out of his romance with Shelli. What’s with bringing up Meg and one really awkward moment?
Head of Household – Our updates are over here. Meanwhile, next week is a double-eviction…
