‘Wayward Pines’ finale spoilers: Cast on Pilcher’s actions, body count (video)

The finale of “Wayward Pines” on Thursday night, and if you did not get the sense of this already, it looks like the survivors may be spending the closing minutes of the episode in mourning.

In the video below (first posted by TVLine), the likes of Carla Gugino and Charlie Tahan explain some of what you can expect to see over the course of this big episode, including the heavy possibility that the actions of Dr. Pilcher (Toby Jones) and the electric fence are going to lead to mass carnage. As you saw last week, he made the decision to unleash the abbies on the town, feeling as though it would be better to start over rather than try to “fix” things using the current group.

Here is a fun little thing to think about: Imagine the series now, and then compare it to where we were back when it premiered in May. Is it even remotely similar? We don’t think so. We have descended into complete chaos, and while there was a futuristic vibe to the show an episode or two ago, we’re now much more into “Walking Dead” territory where the main purpose is survive at any cost.

For those wondering more in the way of conspiracy theories about if there will be a season 2, we really should point out here that this video is marked at the end with “season finale.” While additional episodes have not been confirmed, this proves that it is at least something that Fox is considering it. As for how that will come about, that is something we are excited to see.
