‘Ink Master’ Master vs Master review: Joey Hamilton, Scott Marshall, Jason Clay Dunn, Steve Tefft compete
Have you ever wanted to see the winners of “Ink Master” compete against each other to see who is the ultimate master? Well tonight you have a chance to do that as Joey Hamilton, Jason Clay Dunn, Scott Marshall and Steve Tefft will go up against each other to prove who is the ultimate “Ink Master”. If you are wondering where Shane O’Neill from season 1 is then you are not alone.
The first challenge was a non-elimination challenge and gave the masters a chance to check out what the others can do. Very tough challenge since we had all four artists tattooing one woman, but we’ve seen this before when the artists tattooed the twins at the Coney Island side show in season 4, but on a smaller scale. Even though we though Scott had the weakest tattoo, he won tattoo of the day and a huge advantage. This is starting to feel like season 4 all over again where Scott was winning challenges for weaker tattoos. We would’ve given it to Joey’s lion… very strong.
The next challenge was a portrait and it’s either Barack Obama or George Bush. For those of you who think that maybe we wrote that down wrong int his review, we’ll repeat it… George Bush. and Barack Obama tattoos. There were a lot of really great tattoos, but Jason had a really rough time with this and he was eliminated going up against Scott. When it comes to Joey vs Steve we were really surprised to see Joey go home and we wonder if they gave the win to Steve to prove to the viewers that he should’ve won over Sarah Miller who we still feel got robbed of the season 2 win.
Steve going up against Scott made us immediately think that Scott was going to be the winner since the judges seem to love him way more then they should. They pulled a season 5 finale move where Scott and Steve had to pick the style for the other person and Steve and Scott both picked traditional tattoos. So who won the $10,000 cash prize and is named the ultimate Ink Master? Scott Marshall… but to be fair, Shane O’Neill was not in this competition and he’s a tough competitor.
We loved seeing the winners all compete against each other (we have been hoping for an all stars season for a while now), but we really wish that Shane O’Neill was including in the group (if he wanted to be back that is). What we have really wanted to see over the years is the winners of “Ink Master” come back to be guest judges. Why crown them as a master and not have them back on the show to promote the brand? It’s a perfect opportunity to let fans get to see their favorites in action. Episode grade: B-
Did you like watching the winners compete against each other in this special, or would you have rather seen them in an all stars season? I don’t consider Scott the best of Master vs. Master. When you do not have all the winners including Season 1’s Shane O’Neill then you cannot really say Scott is the best.

I think Scott is a great Tattoo artist but I agree that these Judges love this guy way too much and he won many challenges in Season4 and MvM that he shouldn’t have.
I don’t think Scott should ever compete in Inkmaster again as long as these judges are there because if they do they might as well skip the Competition and give him the trophy again…

I definitely don’t think Scott won the first challenge, really seems like the favoritism from season 4 is still alive. I really wish Shane was competing, I think he is probably the best of the winners.
