‘Galavant’ season 2, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, ‘Scandal’ season 5 episode orders revealed!
Remember the days when the majority of series had runs that were either 13, 22, or 24 episodes? Times definitely seem to be changing, especially when it comes to how ABC is choosing to do things at this very moment.
Let’s start this episode-order report with a show that we have long professed to be a personal favorite: “Galavant.” According to a report from SpoilerTV, the second season is going to have ten episodes. Huzzah! Sure, that may not sound like a lot and they may just run over five weeks, but it is still more than the eight episodes that we had for the musical comedy’s first season. We’ll take whatever we can get.
Meanwhile, we feel already for the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy,” given that the plan is to do an enormous 25 episodes of that series! This is a ton of work to throw into a single show, and the only time that the series did a longer stint of episodes was back when it did a shocking 27 back in the second season! Granted, it has such a large cast that no individual person should have to work that much.
While there are many shows that have expected orders (“Agents of SHIELD” and “Once Upon a Time” have 22, “How to Get Away with Murder” is back with 15), “Scandal” season 5 has the odd order of 21. Personally, we would have liked to see the show go back to around 18 or so, since we feel like it works a little better with a tighter narrative. It’s not nearly as procedural as “Grey’s Anatomy” can be at times, and you don’t want to tire out your cast.

Season 2 of Grey’s Anatomy consisted of five carry-over episodes from season 1’s production cycle and twenty-two episodes ordered for season 2’s production cycle. So, technically, they only did the customary twenty-two in the 2005-2006 season since the first five were already in the can. However, Grey’s did produce twenty-five episodes for season 3.
