‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: Chandler Riggs not playing Spider-Man (but he’d like to!)

Carl -Who knew that we’d be spending so much time this summer talking about “The Walking Dead” actors and “Spider-Man”? It wasn’t that long ago that Tyler James Williams said that he would be interested in the character (but also that he wasn’t trying to start any sort of campaign); now, Chandler Riggs has revealed the he’d also love to don the mask of the famous web-slinger.

Ultimately, it does not appear that Riggs is going to personally be playing Peter Parker in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” movie that is meant to serve as the character’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The tweet below is proof of that. Granted, we never really heard anything that said that he was actually in the running for the part in the first place. This seems to us to be something more in line with what some fans would want to see, at least a little bit more so than something that had the rumor mill going in overdrive.

If nothing else, we can say that Riggs is certainly what Marvel seems to be looking for: A young actor to play Peter while he is still in high school, and someone who could be a part of their universe for a long time. Asa Butterfield at one point was labeled as the favorite, but nothing has been confirmed.

Riggs is going to be very busy over the next few months dealing with zombies rather than superheroes, as season 6 of “The Walking Dead” is premiering later this year on AMC. Here’s to hoping that this is an awesome year for Carl, given that the second half of season 4 to us remains our favorite time spent with the character.
