‘Sherlock’ season 4 star Benedict Cumberbatch, wife Sophie Hunter welcome baby boy!

Mrs. Carter: There is a new member of the Cumberbatch clan!

“Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch (pictured, left) tends to keep almost everything thoughtful and professional, and when it comes to his private life, that means for the most part keeping it private. Therefore, you cannot be too surprised with the quiet but classy way in which he decide to announce that he and wife Sophie Hunter have now welcomed a baby boy into the world. They have released a statement, but they have not chosen to reveal anything about the child other than the fact that he is a healthy boy:

“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”

Cumberbatch has become a fan / media sensation really ever since “Sherlock” started to completely take off years ago. He’s had roles in such franchises as “Star Trek” and “The Hobbit,” and by starring in the upcoming Marvel movie “Doctor Strange,” he is more than likely about to take that to a new level yet again.

For those “Sherlock” fans who have not heard, we can at least confirm that Benedict has filmed a special episode with Martin Freeman, which is going to air around Christmastime and will be going back into a Victorian setting. The other three episodes that constitute season 4 have yet to be filmed.
