Billboard Music Awards 2015: Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video serves as opening
The Billboard Music Awards always like to open things up with an “unforgettable performance,” and tonight on ABC the show chose to open with … a music video? It’s strange, but at the same time not entirely surprising. All music shows these days tend to bow to the throne of Taylor Swift, and her “Bad Blood” single has been hyped up for some time, mostly because everyone is so desperate to know the inspiration behind it.
Also, this music video has a ton of celebrities in it! Not only does Swift and Kendrick Lamar show up, but you also get a chance to see Lena Dunham, Mariska Hargitay, Ellen Pompeo, and a variety of some of Swift’s other close friends from the music and entertainment industry. When it comes to star power and production value, we don’t really think that there is any question that this is the biggest video that Swift has ever done. Remember when MTV didn’t want to play music videos at all? Now we are watching them during an awards show.
We’re still not sure that this is melodically Swift’s best song, but it certainly has social media buzzing already! Immediately after her big video debut, Swift then introduced Van Halen for a performance. This has to be one of the most random pairings of acts that we have ever seen before a commercial break! Then again, we don’t see a whole lot of people complaining about it at the moment.
We imagine that the video will be officially posted a little later in the night, so don’t worry if you are an international reader looking for it.
