‘Twin Peaks’ revival on Showtime a go (again) with director David Lynch

Showtime -While reviving “Twin Peaks” on Showtime has been a heck of a messy affair, it feels like it is finally going to actually happen … even if this was definitely a little bit touch-and-go for a little while.

Today, director David Lynch confirmed that despite being previously out on the show in what was some sort of money dispute (we believe it was more about the budget than any money specifically he was receiving), he has signed on now officially to direct the nine-episode revival. This is something that we believed would happen eventually, and we’re glad to see that the show can start to actually move forward with some of the cast on board. Meanwhile, network head David Nevins also said the following in a statement:

“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark [Frost] and David tastes more delicious than ever … Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Pre production starts now!”

This is still going to be a hugely ambitious project, and we are certainly at least a little bit nervous in how this is going to turn out. There are some out there who completely dislike “Twin Peaks” and consider it to be a waste of time. However, there are those who adore it and consider it to be one of the greatest shows ever. It’s a polarizing program. We are excited to see it back, but if it doesn’t deliver, we can only imagine what Twitter is going to be like.
