ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 finale spoilers: See some of Rowan’s visit to Mellie Grant

What does Rowan want exactly with Mellie Grant? What is the purpose of Foxtail? Both are very important questions, and both are featured heavily in the latest sneak peek below for Thursday night’s new episode of “Scandal.” This finale will hopefully create more of what is the endgame for Rowan; even if he does not die, shouldn’t he start to formulate some sort of escape plan so that he is not constantly in the public eye?

Upon watching this latest sneak peek, really the question we find ourselves wondering is rather simple: Why in the world did Fitz not tell Mellie about this guy, or find something to show her of him? He basically set her up, even if he did not intend to do so, in order to stare into the face of a monster. He is posing here as a wealthy donor and a man of great power, and he has something he wants to show her.

Unfortunately, we have no idea as to what this something is, but it could influence Mellie’s campaign heavily over the course of this episode. By the time it ends, we could learn whether or not she is the first First Lady / Senator in the history of United States politics.

We should ultimately make it clear here that were this any other show, we would be giving a monumental eye roll to it and say that it is far too unrealistic. However, this is “Scandal,” and this is Shonda Rhimes. She somehow manages to pull off crazy and unbelievable in a way no one else can.
