Bradley Cooper to reprise ‘Limitless’ role in new CBS series
If there was ever a way to show that Bradley Cooper is a pretty cool guy, this may be it: His willingness to shed the whole “famous movie stars don’t do scripted TV” nonsense that has plagued the industry for far too long.
At the CBS upfront presentation today, the network confirmed that Cooper will be reprising his role from the feature film “Limitless” in the upcoming pilot episode of the show of the same name, and that he will potentially even recur throughout the first season depending on his availability. It helps for this particular project that Cooper also serves as an executive producer, so he has an extra motivation to try to make appearances on the show. Another benefit of appearing? He has worked with star Jake McDorman before on “American Sniper,” so there is a little bit of built-in history there.
“Limitless” was revealed at the upfront presentation on Wednesday as airing in the Tuesdays-at-10:00 p.m. timeslot that was previously held by “Person of Interest,” and we do think that there is a chance to get a breakout hit there. While there may be some competition on cable, there is nothing on either NBC or ABC that is a sure thing there, though the former network is at least trying with a variety series starring Neil Patrick Harris.
We’re going to hopefully have more impressions on this and other new series a little later today, since we envision that the network is going to want to reveal at least some sort of extended promo in the near future.
