ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8: Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas returning; Stana Katic’s statement

We’ve had a ton of news to report today when it comes to ABC programming, but one thing above all else that has dominated headlines is the renewal of “Castle,” the fact that the show could still have some sort of life ahead for it, and that Stana Katic is coming back for at least one more season. For the time being, we hear that she only signed a one-year deal.

Now, some other great news: Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas are going to be joining her and Nathan Fillion back on the show! The two posted the news in the most hilarious way possible on various forms of social media (share below). There were concerns at one point via some rumors on the internet about their future, but we were never that worried. Imagining the show without Ryan and Esposito would be a very sad thing, indeed. Judging from Tamala Jones’ own post, Lanie’s also going to be coming back. (You can also see Stana’s statement on returning if you missed it earlier.)

One mystery that does still remain is the overall episode order for season 8, as that was not confirmed at the upfront presentation. While it may make some sense to go with fewer episodes if the cast has some other projects to pursue, why wouldn’t you just announce it today if that was going to be the case? Given that the writing process will have to begin sooner rather than later, we anticipate some more information on that soon enough.

For now, just rejoice that it seems already like all of your favorite folks at the precinct are going to be coming back for another run this fall.
