ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8: Looking now at Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion’s future with series
Tonight, “Castle” ended season 7 ended with an episode entitled “Hollander’s Woods” that was intense, at times scary, but for the most part conclusive when it comes to the story for the series. Since we know, however, that the show was renewed for an eighth season, now is the time where we start to carefully look and example where all of this could lead us in the future.
Let’s start with the main subject of the past month: Stana Katic’s contract status. As of tonight, she is still not on board officially, though there are various sources out there saying that she is close to joining. We’re going to continue to be hesitant on anything other than the facts, but it felt like tonight was clearly written thinking that Beckett would be back on the show next season. There was no cliffhanger that would remove her from the equation.
Meanwhile, the same goes for the future of some of the actors. After watching this, we have a hard time thinking that the show is trying to write many of the supporting cast out, either. We feel cautiously optimistic that everyone will be back. Given that many of the cast members got together and live-tweeted the finale, there is a lot of love there.
Ultimately, we anticipate that the ABC upfront presentation is where so much more information will be shared. Stay tuned, as we’ll have more on that once it becomes availabl.e

I think the story is good to continue. I think they will incorporate her job with starting to run for Senator. Even maybe a Caskett Baby. I think when they start running, she may have difficulty facing backlash from those on Senator Bracken’s payroll or even some inside job trying to distroy her career. Either way, I don’t see any of them not coming back full time. Maybe even some security by Ryan & Espo. I do see more of Molly Quinn coming into play, because she has been more prominent in the last couple of episodes & especially if she helps out in the campaign. I do hope it will be another 23 episodes, cause I can’t see it being shorter, especially if this may be their last season.

I don’t think ABC would have renewed the series if they didn’t think Katic would return. They have to know that Beckett can’t be replaced. I’ve read very few comments on the subject that stated they would continue watching without Stana Katic. Most, including myself, agree that Castle won’t be Castle without her.
